Ukrainian Egg Workshop

Event Details

This workshop is a LOT of fun. The eggs are a wonderful gift (think Mother’s Day) and are ALWAYS beautiful no matter the skill level.

Pysanky is a traditional craft in the Ukraine, with a history of thousands of years. The method is similar to batik – patterns are drawn on the egg with wax, which then protects the covered areas from the dye that is applied. By repeating this process with different colors of dye, a multi-colored pattern is built up. Finally, the wax is removed to reveal the colors that were covered up at each stage.

Come with friends to enjoy visiting around the table while we wax the eggs! Don’t wait; sign up now to reserve your spot. Seating is limited to 8. Students 8 years old and older are welcome if their parents believe they are old enough to handle a lit candle.

Fee is only $45 or $30 if four people attend. Workshop is from 9am-1pm at Sue’s Art House, behind Burnt Ridge Fire Station.
