As part of the Float VBC project, we are working on listing The Nature Conservancy property at Bluffton as a public canoe launch with the take out being Archey Fork Park, to bring floating to the heart of Clinton.
In order for The Nature Conservancy to allow us to use their property for this purpose, they have requested that we form a group to oversee the property in the summer months. My goal is to have enough volunteers to assign one week out of the summer season to two individuals and their responsibility would be to drive to the Bluffton property two to three times that week to help keep an eye on the property and contact me if they see any issues. This group is a necessary step to secure Bluffton as a public canoe launch so any help would be appreciated and any other individuals you can think of who would like to help with this project would be welcome.
The Bluffton property is approximately 6 miles up highway 65 north and then you turn left on Watergate Road. The property is located at the end of Watergate approximately another 3 miles. If you choose to help, your responsibility would be for two to three days a year to drive out there and look at the property.
